What you pay, when you pay it, and how to stop.
The short version, before you order:
Bellboy Press is a printed monthly newsletter written by me, Oliver. These terms cover every order you place with Bellboy Press. I’ve kept them short and plain on purpose. If anything here is unclear, write to me at oliver@bellboypress.com and I’ll answer it.
You pay $9.95 today for Issue #1, postage included.
If you do nothing, your membership continues automatically 30 days after you order at $47 a month, postage included. It’s charged to the card you used, once a month, until you cancel. Each payment brings the next issue.
If you cancel before day 30, you pay nothing more.
If you take the Founding Annual, you pay $397 for Issues #2 through #13, one a month. Your $9.95 already covers Issue #1. I close your $47-a-month plan by hand before its first charge, so you’re never billed for both.
The Founding Annual renews automatically each year at $397, charged to the same card, until you cancel. I’ll email you about 30 days before each renewal with the date and the amount, so you have time to decide.
Use the button at bellboypress.com/cancel, which opens a short email to me, or write to oliver@bellboypress.com and say you'd like to cancel. You can do it any time, and you don’t need to give a reason. I cancel by hand and email you to confirm it, usually within one business day.
To stop the next charge, your request needs to reach me before your next billing date. Anything you’ve already paid for is still mailed to you. If a charge ever goes through after you asked me to cancel in time, I’ll refund it.
Read Issue #1. If it isn’t worth far more than $9.95 to you, email me and I’ll refund it. Keep the issue.
If you cancel the Founding Annual partway through a year, I’ll refund the issues that haven’t been mailed yet, at $397 ÷ 12 (about $33.08) each. Issues already mailed are yours to keep. The same applies if you cancel within a few days of a renewal: every issue not yet mailed is refunded.
Monthly payments aren’t refunded once that month’s issue has been mailed. Outside the guarantee and the annual refund above, any other refund is at my discretion, and I’ll be fair.
The 1923 Swipe File is a one-time $17 digital download. It isn’t a subscription and never renews. I email you a link to download it within one business day of your order.
The guarantee above covers Issue #1, not the Swipe File. Because it’s a download you keep, it isn’t refundable once delivered. If the file won’t open or arrives damaged, write to me and I’ll send you a working copy or refund the $17.
For now I can only mail to US addresses. Postage is included in every price above.
Each issue is mailed flat, First-Class, in a plain white 9×12 envelope. Issue #1 leaves within about two weeks of your order. If an issue hasn’t arrived within three weeks, reply to any email from me and I’ll send another.
Please keep your mailing address up to date. The print list for each month’s issue goes to the printer on the 20th. If a payment fails, that month’s issue waits until it goes through.
Prices are in US dollars. If I ever change a price, I’ll email you before it applies to you, and you can cancel before it does. A change to these terms applies to your next charge, never to one already made.
